The law approved by parliament 133 6 August 2008 provides, as is known, erasing all the trials currently in force in secondary schools and their reconciliation to a limited number of uniform curricula at the national level. In this context, the "Liceo Socio-psycho-pedagogical" and "School of Social Sciences" will disappear, absorbed by the new "School of Human Sciences." Looking at the draft timetable prepared by the Government of paintings inspired by the curriculum already provided by the Moratti Reform (Law 53/03), it is clear a strong penalty right in this address, the nature of which is definitely compromised.
Given that the "socio-psycho-educational secondary school" has a total Monteoro significant and that a reduction could actually be useful and beneficial to students, however, we believe that it is not possible to cancel suddenly an address that, since 1992, has concretely demonstrated its validity training.
Specifically, the curriculum provided by the new "School of Human Sciences" seems inappropriate for several reasons:
- The reduction of disciplines address the "human sciences" in fact, just 3 hours per week (15 in 'entire five-year period), compared to 4 / 7 under the framework of the old time high school social-psycho-pedagogical (27 whole years), takes its specificity to this school, depriving students who express an interest and propensity for psycho and social opportunities of an essential formativa.
- La completa cancellazione della Sociologia or its radical reduction to a brief discussion of historical, not only eliminates the high school one of the subjects most popular with our students but also removes an essential framework for understanding the complexities of today's world.
- Moving from Pedagogy of the teaching of the two-year period makes it impossible to establish a fruitful connection with the interdisciplinary philosophy, a discipline with which it shares much of the program. In addition, the planned content, being of mainly historical and theoretical, seem hard to approach for a guy just out of school. For this reason the former high school social-psycho-pedagogical included in the two years the teaching of "Elements of psychology and sociology", proposing issues much closer to daily experiences of students. We consider it essential, sharing the reasons already expressed by major contemporary educationalists including Jerome S. Bruner, that the disciplines are introduced gradually, helping the natural interest of students.
Therefore, we invite all leaders, teachers, parents and secondary school students, socio-psycho-pedagogical, social sciences and humanities to collect our appeal and send it as soon as possible by mail or email , the Minister for Education, the President Council, the Parliament (in particular the Commission VII of the House and Senate) and the President of the Republic.
We hope that Government and Parliament to pay heed to the instructions and suggestions that come from those who worked for years in high school and has at heart the future, we greet you cordially.
